Bee and Hornet Stings

You may have noticed that the bees and hornets are very active and aggressive as the summer comes to an end and we enter the fall. Their food sources are declining and they are seeking sweet meals. They commonly will try to share your food or drink. This increases your chances of being stung. Bee stings are a common cause of emergency room and doctor’s office visits this time of year.

FOCS releases two short video ads on dropping water levels

Friends of the Central Sands (FOCS) has released two short video advertisements demonstrating why the fight over Wisconsin’s water is so important. These 15-second videos clearly show the threat to the water resources.  Titled “No More Fishing” and “No More Picnics”, the commercials demonstrate the threat of groundwater pumping to recreation and other uses of Wisconsin’s waters. The videos can be seen by visiting, www.FriendsofCS.org, or are available to download at www.Vimeo.com/FriendsofCS.
