Plainfield Board approves police liaison contract for Tri-County schools

The Plainfield Village Board held their regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 2 in the Municipal Building.

Members of the board approved the Police Liaison contract with Tri-County Area School District for the 2014-15 school year in the amount of $10,636 as well as the minutes from the Aug. 5 regular monthly meeting.

Fall harvest weight limits begin Sept. 1

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is reminding farmers that fall harvest weight limits take effect from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31.

“With the fall harvest just around the corner, farmers should note that state law allows an increase in normal weight limits for trucks hauling crops from the field to their first point of storage,” said Farm Bureau’s Executive Director of Governmental Relations Paul Zimmerman. “Our state’s new Implements of Husbandry (IOH) law allows farm machinery to have a 15 percent increase in weight year-round. The IOH law does not apply to trucks.”
