Plainfield Firefighters battle hunger with a 24-hour rooftop stay

It was a cold Friday, Feb. 28 afternoon at only 5 degrees when Plainfield Firefighters Dan Miller, assistant fire chief, and Chad Weis, firefighter, climbed on top of the rooftop overhang above the diesel pumps at Plainfield Travel Plaza for their 24 hour “Rooftop Stay.”

 
Coloma Board approves permit for Prince of Peace Lutheran Church

At the Coloma Village Board meeting on Feb. 27 Mission Builders of the Lutheran Church requested that campers and trailers be at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. They are building an addition to the entrance of the church, a canopy, and additional room.

Wilder honored as "Driver of the Month"

A special gathering was held at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Conference Center, Stevens Point, where approximately 180 trucking industry people gave tribute to 12 drivers who were honored for the Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association (WMCA) 2013 “Driver of the Month” Awards. This event was the WMCA Annual Safety Awards Banquet held on Feb. 22.
