Troxel elected to Columbia Sheep Breeders National Board

Sara Troxel, Plainfield, was recently elected to the National Board of Directors of the Columbia Sheep Breeders Association of America. The election was held at the National Show and Sale in Tooele, UT, June 10-13.

Mt. Morris Camp and Conference Center to celebrate 50 years Aug. 9

In 1964, four visionary Moravian Church members visited  Waushara County and found a small farm for sale in the Town of Mt. Morris. They went to the realtor’s office in Wautoma and used personal funds to put down a deposit on what today is the Mt. Morris Camp and Conference Center, located on Blackhawk Road.

 
Piechowski resigns from Redgranite Village Board

Near the end of the July 15 Redgranite Village Board regular meeting, Richard “Mort” Piechowski read his letter of resignation to the board, stating he has been on the board for more than 16 years and is “deeply grateful to the citizens of Redgranite for their support over these past years.”

Rohde family hosts reunion in Colorado

The annual Rohde Reunion was hosted by the family of Gilbert Rohde, at Dwayne Webster Veteran’s Park in Loveland, CO, July 13 with 38 family members in attendance.

Family members started gathering on July 10 and continued arriving on the following days.

Safe use of prescription medications

Over half of drug overdose deaths involve prescription medications. The majority of those are due to narcotic or opiate type pain medication. Another prescription medication class that is frequently misused is the class of sedatives known as benzodiazepines. This article will briefly discuss this commonly prescribed medication and then discuss some general issues regarding prescription medications.
