Community invited to ground breaking ceremony
Tuesday, July 22, 2014 8:40 AM | Updated ( Tuesday, July 22, 2014 8:41 AM )

The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area is excited to announce the ground breaking ceremony at 344 Broadway Street at 12:00pm on July 28, 2014.

The Club which has raised almost 95% of its capital campaign goal received approval to move forward with the construction project. The campaign which went public in February has been years in the making.

“I think it is important to thank all the people who support the Club whether it is for the capital campaign or support in keeping the doors open on an operational basis,” stated Advisory Board Member, Steve Sondalle. “I believe people are supporting the capital campaign because the Club has helped out so many children and families in the area. Bottom line is the Club positively impacts the lives of those who use it!”

The construction is expected to begin sometime at the end summer. No date has been determined. The Club expects to continue serving the community during construction by using available space at All Saints Catholic School.

“Moving forward with a new facility really allows for the Club to help more children and families and secures a future for many generations,” Sondalle added.

There is still much work to do from a monetary standpoint and from a relocation standpoint. Community members who wish to assist in either fashion can also contact, Scott Jensen at (920) 361-2717 for more information.

“Thanks to some generous friends of the Club we are almost there,” commented Branch Director, Jason Presto. “Without continued public support and the likes of Badger Mining Corporation, Farmers & Merchants Bank, 1st National Bank, Magnum Products, CHN, and Agnesian Healthcare we wouldn’t be able to accomplish things like this.”

The Club plans to keep updates available online at for construction related events, fundraising opportunities, and more. Community members are reminded that the Club offers a secure online giving system that can be found on it’s website.

Community members are encouraged to RSVP to Development & Marketing Coordinator, Scott Jensen at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by July 25th.  A light lunch will be provided by Subway following the ceremony.
