The piles of snow are melting fast, the temperatures are getting warmer and the days are getting noticeably longer. After the long, bitterly cold winter the celebration that is spring can be measured in the “warmth” of everyone you meet on a sunny, 50-degree day. Another sure sign spring is here, is the need for DNR burning permits.

 
Fun activities scheduled for Blue Ribbon Kid's Day

Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day will be held on Saturday, April 5 from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Parkside School in Wautoma. This event is held each April during Child Abuse Prevention Month to raise awareness about child abuse and offer families an opportunity to learn about area resources and enjoy free family fun.

Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital (WRCMH), a not-for-profit healthcare system in Waushara County, and ThedaCare™, a community-owned, Northeast Wisconsin not-for-profit health system, have agreed to the terms of a letter of intent to affiliate.

 
Fatal crash on State Road 22 claims life of husband and wife

On Thursday, March 13, at 5:28 a.m. the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a call of a traffic crash on State Road 22 at the intersection with Czech Court.  This is in the Town of Dakota and south of the City of Wautoma.

 
Veteran to receive new well after outpouring of donations

The “Vets for Well Fund”,  succeeded in raising enough funds to secure a well to be drilled for the local veteran in need. The well was needed to assist in avoiding displacement from his home in Neshkoro.
