The Wild Rose School Board approved salaries and contracts for the 2014-15 school year during a July 17 meeting.

The district is able to receive raises this next school year, which District Administrator Claude Olson says, “is a relatively good deal for our employees.”

Planning for the 7th annual Thrivent® Reach the Peak 5K Walk/Run, 15K Run, and the Touchstone Energy® Kids Fun Run is underway. The races will be held at the scenic Nordic Mountain Resort on October 11, with all of the proceeds benefitting the A+ After School Program.

The Wautoma Area School Board approved five local businesses to their honor roll at their regular meeting held at the District Office on July 14.

The Wautoma area businesses selected for the Wautoma Area School District’s Honor Roll for the 2013-14 school year included: Martz Insurance, Reilly Motors, Dollar General, Shopko Hometown, and WAUH The Bug.

The Camp Parkside students who participated in Cherie Bunde’s cheer and gymnastics classes performed their “Frozen” Cheer and Gymnastics Expo for friends and family at Parkside Middle School on July 2. After three weeks of training, the students tumbled, danced, and cheered to music from the movie “Frozen”.
