The September Wautoma Area Woman’s Club meeting will be held at the Wautoma Library in the meeting room at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8.

The guest speaker will be Ken Tennessen who is been studying dragonflies for over 45 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1968 and his Ph.D. in entomology from the University of Florida in 1975.

 
Rug Hooking Guild to host Fall Hook-In Print E-mail

The Heart of Wisconsin Rug Hooking Guild is sponsoring their 25th annual Fall Hook-In on Sept. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mount Morris Camp and Conference Center, W6016 Blackhawk Road, Wautoma. The date and location have changed this year.

During the horse shows at the Waushara Count Fair this year, many exhibitors received Grand and Reserve while showing their horses.

These participants worked very hard with their horses throughout the year either by working with them at home or by attending clinics, open shows, or open riding that was offered through 4-H.

After their nine-week weight loss challenge, the Waushara County Biggest Loser group celebrated their 387.2-pound weight loss with a potluck dinner at the Kileen House, Wautoma, on Aug. 21.

The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh football team and Head Coach Pat Cerroni visited the Boys & Girls Club during the final week of summer.

Cerroni gave a presentation to club members about leadership and what it takes to be a good person. Using examples from his football players, Cerroni described to the kids what being a Titan means and the standards that players have to achieve in order to play.
