The poppy became a symbol of those who sacrificed their lives so that we can live in freedom, but it also honors all veterans with the proceeds benefiting veterans and their families.

Members of the American Legion Wolman-Minskey Post 317 and the Wolman-Minskey Unit 317 will be distributing poppies at area businesses Friday and Saturday, July 5 and 6. Please support all veterans by wearing a poppy the 4th of July weekend. __PUBLIC__

Reggie Vergin received not only honors for 50 years of service to the Poy Sippi Fire Department on June 12 but it was also proclaimed “Reggie Vergin Day” from the Town of Poy Sippi.

 
DuPont graduates United States Air Force Academy Print E-mail

Matthew DuPont, grandson of Gene and Joyce Heinz, Wautoma, graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs on May 29. He was one of the 1,024 graduates. He graduated with a major in Area Field Studies and a minor in French. He was commissioned into the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant.
