There are painted, designated areas where pedestrians can cross the road, which are marked with signs to let drivers know that they should stop and be cautious in those areas.

Disappointed with our elected representatives Print E-mail
Tuesday, August 06, 2013 10:24 AM

We are two of the over 80 percent of Americans who disapprove of the horrible job our elected representatives are doing on our behalf. It seems we can only watch helplessly as they grandstand in front of cameras and do nothing in the chamber!

Last week I found myself enjoying a nice lunch at my local restaurant. I’ve known the waitress who works there for many years. She is always efficient and courteous.

Tuesday, July 23, 2013 10:50 AM

I‘ve resisted writing this for a couple of years. Today, July 20, 2013, I can put it off no longer. As a resident of Mt. Morris proper, someone has to bring attention to the fact that it’s only a matter of time before there will be an accident on Hwy 152.  I’m talking about in the 25MPH zone by the dam.

"I Love a Parade" Print E-mail
Tuesday, July 16, 2013 11:01 AM

I am writing today to respond to a letter in last week’s Argus, where concerns were expressed regarding the length of the parade in general, and the amount of talking done by the announcer in particular. Before responding, let me say that the Chamber and our new Executive Director did a great job getting entries for the parade. Parades are longer when more people want to participate. The parade also had delays so that American Flags, water, and popsicles could be distributed.

Simonson family 57th year reunion Print E-mail
Tuesday, July 16, 2013 10:57 AM

Some of the descendants of the late Carl (Charles) and Inga Thompson Simonson met for the 57th year on July 14. This year the Mount Morris County Park was not used. It had been the choice place as the Simonson family once owned part of that property. With so few now attending, it was decided not to reserve it.
