Over a year ago, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced it was seeking to revise NR115, the state administrative code that sets minimum standards for county shoreland zoning ordinances across Wisconsin. After working through the initial stages of the process, the rule changes were unveiled at the end of June, and public hearings are being held around the state through August.

Last week I found myself enjoying a nice lunch at my local restaurant. I’ve known the waitress who works there for many years. She is always efficient and courteous.

Accident waiting to happen in Mt. Morris Print E-mail
Tuesday, July 23, 2013 10:50 AM

I‘ve resisted writing this for a couple of years. Today, July 20, 2013, I can put it off no longer. As a resident of Mt. Morris proper, someone has to bring attention to the fact that it’s only a matter of time before there will be an accident on Hwy 152.  I’m talking about in the 25MPH zone by the dam.

Dear editor,

I used to do all of my grocery shopping at one of our local stores. As I entered the store recently, I saw a nice display of many cantaloupe in a large box. A sign with the bold numerals “99 cents” was on the front of the box. I bought one. When I got home I was surprised to look at my receipt and see I was charged $1.49 for the melon.
