You may already know Mary Crnkovich. She is an artist of esteem with numerous awards including one for the actual front door of her home. She has been living in Wautoma since 2005 and has been a member of the senior citizens center since then.

I was very fortunate to grab George and Susan Louthain for an interview. They are as slippery as a stick of butter at a corn on the cob party. That’s because they are enjoying life with a capital ‘ENJOY!’

If you are lucky enough to know Neil Starke then his AKA, “The Ambassador,” is no surprise. This soon to be 94-year-old has more energy than some half his age.

Eileen Westphal joined the Waushara-Wautoma Senior Center 23 years ago. When she and her husband, Howie relocated here from Beaver Dam they wanted to find an outlet for social activity all year round.

Jim and Marie Hayden could be called full-time fun-timers at the Senior Center and it’s because of couples like this that “Fun Central” became the center’s secondary name.

Seniors from Waushara County traveled to New Orleans from May 3 to 11. While in the Big Easy, the group visited: the National World War II Museum; the historic Destrehan Plantation; took a cruise aboard the SS Natchex Steamboat; had a guided tour of New Orleans; and enjoyed exploring Bourbon Street.

Don’t even mention the word retired when referring to Bernie Zellner. This Master Electrician has not stopped wiring, fixing, remodeling, gluing, hammering and insulating in over 40 years.
