I’ve lived in the Wautoma area since 1959 and am a little embarrassed to admit that I’ve never been to the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Show held at Wittman Field in Oshkosh for one week each summer.  I was under the false impression that the event was geared more for pilots, those in aviation-related careers, and other airplane enthusiasts.  I always stayed away from the south side of Oshkosh during EAA week because of the “heavy traffic” I’d always heard about.

The one-of-a-kind U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Edition 2014 Ford Mustang GT developed by the design and engineering teams at Ford Motor Company sold for $398,000 at the Gathering of Eagles charity auction Thursday evening, Aug. 1.

The group Unity will be accepting applications from art and craft vendors for their Third Annual Harvest Faire which will be held in the Princeton City Park located on S. Fulton Street. The fair will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vendors will be allowed into the park starting at 7 a.m. on Sunday.

The Coloma Area Historical Society once again will sponsor the “First Saturday Craft & Flea Market” in the Coloma Community Park on Aug. 3. Set up time is 7 a.m. and the market is open for shoppers from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. An additional market day will be held on Oct. 5 at the Coloma Fall Fest event in the downtown area.

The engineering and design teams at Ford Motor Company have produced a unique U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Edition 2014 Ford Mustang GT. This car will be donated by Ford to be sold at the Gathering of Eagles charity event on Thursday, Aug. 1 during the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh 2013 – the World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration.
