The Prairie Sands Chapter of the Prairie Enthusiasts is hosting their first annual Prairie Days Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Coloma Park Pavilion from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The Prairie Sands chapter includes Portage, Waupaca, Marquette, Waushara, Adams, Green Lake and Juneau counties.  Prairie Days will include prairie tours led by nationally known plant and wildlife experts, live music, guest speakers, and more!  This event is free and open to the public.

The Pumpkins on the Petunias Festival in Berlin will host its annual downhill soapbox car race Oct. 5. Kids and adults ages 7 and up can build their own racer by following the rules listed on the festival website, www.pumpkinsonthepetunias.com. Saint Johns Catholic Church holds 108th Annual Picnic in Princeton Print E-mail

The oldest church picnic in Wisconsin was held Aug. 18 at Saint James Catholic Church in Princeton. The estimated crowd of over 2,000 people enjoyed a variety of food, games, and bingo. The kids attending enjoyed the numerous games and pedal pulls provided. This was the second year that the picnic incorporated a classic car show with over 100 classic cars and trucks entered. The music was provided by DJ Brown’s Cruisin’ Sounds. There were several raffles with proceeds going to support the parish and school.
