During a presentation held Oct. 23 at the Wild Rose Community Center, Gary Hess pointed out that when the Frank J. Hess and Sons Cooperage closed in 1966 in Madison, the family members who worked the business signed this particular white oak quarter barrel, and it is permanently displayed at the Dean House in Madison.
