Children can join beginning Sept. 8 for bible stories, music, crafts and snack on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. following the 9 a.m. worship service at Trinity Lutheran Church, South Elm and West Scott Street. Located one block south of Main Street, between Scott and Oxford. Vacation Bible School was held at Trinity Lutheran Church July 29-30.  Students discovered how they can get strength for the journey to resist temptations in the daily challenges of life through bible stories, activities, crafts and music.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, at 10 a.m. St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Richford, will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the church building and will also be officially dedicating a recently completed addition that will make the church more accessible to the elderly and handicapped.

Some 107 years ago saw the first connection between a small village called Trefor in Wales and the Town of Redgranite, WI. One of the greatest hard granite quarries in the world, “The Welsh Granite Company” of Trefor, was not producing and hundreds of men were out of work. Some 70 of them answered a call to come to America to quarry the hard rocks of Redgranite, and so began the connection.
