Cool weather, corn stalks, pumpkins, parades and High School Homecoming activities.  It doesn’t get any better than that for students and fans.  Along with the fun comes a large amount of responsibility.

Roundabouts

Not in Waushara County, but:

Roundabouts are becoming more common in Wisconsin because they provide a safer and more efficient traffic flow than standard intersections. By keeping traffic moving one-way in a counterclockwise direction, there are fewer conflict points and traffic flows smoothly.  When driving a roundabout, the same general rules apply as for maneuvering through any other type of intersection.

Waushara County Crime Stoppers was organized in 1992 as a non-profit corporation.  It is managed by a board comprised of 12 community members that serve on the Board of Directors.  The Board members receive no compensation for performing their duties and serving the community.  They meet at least quarterly to conduct business.

A small challenge often results in a large reward.  This will be the case when the “Biggest Little Fair in Wisconsin” returns to the Waushara County Fairgrounds Aug. 15–18.  Getting to the fairgrounds will be the challenge, but once again the fair promises to be a fun-filled event with something for young and old.

Waushara County will be experiencing several road construction projects during the next few weeks.  Sheriff’s Deputies will be working these construction areas to help ensure the safety of the construction workers.  There will be very little tolerance for violations that put others at risk and the forfeitures for violations in constructions zones are double.
