At the Dec. 17 Redgranite Village Board meeting, the board approved the removal of a parking space in downtown Redgranite, directly in front of The Sweet Shop, on the north side of Bannerman Ave.  Police Chief Don Olander told the board that the parking of vehicles in that spot is very dangerous as pedestrians who want to cross the street cannot see traffic, nor can drivers see pedestrians well; he said it is a dangerous situation. The board also discussed the possible removal of another parking spot that is also dangerous. It is located downtown, on the south side of Bannerman, between the crosswalk and entrance driveway into the parking lot for the fire district building; however, this spot cannot be removed until contact is made with the State of Wisconsin and the village parking plan is amended.
