Governor Scott Walker has proclaimed September as the Wisconsin State Patrol 75th Anniversary Month. On Sept. 1, 1939, the Wisconsin Legislature created the Motor Vehicle Department’s Inspection and Enforcement Division, which would grow and evolve into the State Patrol.

The Village of Westfield Fire Department is gearing up for their annual chicken barbeque. The 58th annual BBQ will be held on the Saturday before Labor Day, Aug. 30, at Westfield Pioneer Park.

The village firemen and their wives have traditionally put out a chicken dinner and provide a full day of family-fun for the community.

Bob Powers, grew up in the country, just outside of Wautoma and is now living in Washington, DC, he attended Tri-County (K-12), graduation in 1988. He worked for Holly and Charmaine at the Farm Market from 1984-1992 (basically high school and college), graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1993 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and is now a Lobbyist in Washington DC for mostly tech, internet and Broadcast companies and was formerly Vice President of Government Relations at National Religious Broadcasters.
