A plaque of former Wautoma High School principal, teacher, and counselor Mabel Baumann, who was employed at Wautoma High School from 1947 to 1977, was named to the WHS Wall of Staff at the Over-50 Club Class Reunion, held at the WWII Memorial building on July 19.

The Wautoma Area School Board approved five local businesses to their honor roll at their regular meeting held at the District Office on July 14.

The Wautoma area businesses selected for the Wautoma Area School District’s Honor Roll for the 2013-14 school year included: Martz Insurance, Reilly Motors, Dollar General, Shopko Hometown, and WAUH The Bug.

The Camp Parkside students who participated in Cherie Bunde’s cheer and gymnastics classes performed their “Frozen” Cheer and Gymnastics Expo for friends and family at Parkside Middle School on July 2. After three weeks of training, the students tumbled, danced, and cheered to music from the movie “Frozen”.

School districts qualify for new high cost transportation aid Print E-mail

The Department of Public Instruction is distributing $5 million in aid for districts with above-average student transportation costs under the first year of the high cost transportation categorical aid. Districts are eligible for high cost transportation aid if their transportation costs exceed 150 percent of the statewide average cost per member.
