Every Monday morning an industrious group of ladies can be found in the basement of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville busily producing quilts that will be distributed to people who are in need of them.   The church bulletin from this past Sunday, July 14, told that 50 quilts were boxed and shipped on June 28 to those devastated by storms in Oklahoma.  Twenty quilts have already been boxed and taken to the Veteran’s Home in King.  There are 27 quilts ready for Lutheran World Relief with more in progress.  Funds from two quilts that were sold at St. John’s rummage sale will be used to purchase more batting.  St. John’s regularly provides quilts for all family members when a new Habitat for Humanity home is dedicated.   Additionally, the bulletin said that 55 baby layettes have been completed and boxed to ship to Lutheran World Relief and more will be assembled later this year.
