Almond-Bancroft High School junior Cole Warzynski traveled to the University of Wisconsin -Madison to compete in his first Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Individual State Wrestling Tournament.

Billy Mager, 4, Wautoma, son of Michael and Kathie Mager, dressed up as a bell ringer briefly at Stoneridge Piggly Wiggly, Wautoma, on Dec. 8. The Salvation Army Red Kettle Bell Campaign with help of volunteers was able to raise over $33,800 in Waushara County.

Each year the Waushara County Salvation Army tries to raise more funds than the previous year during the annual Red Kettle Campaign. During the 2014 holiday season, volunteers were successful in this endeavor, raising over $33,800, the most money the county organization has ever raised during the holiday season.

During rehearsal of Charlotte’s Web on Feb. 24, Wilbur, Zach Kubasta, and Charlotte, Taylor Schmidt, decide the word “Radiant” will be the next word Charlotte will write in her web to save Wilbur’s life.

Wautoma High School students will perform the classic tale about a young girl, her pet pig, and a very talented spider in the spring production of Charlotte’s Web. 

Maureen Green and Carolyn Floyd hiked the trail at the Candlelight Sweetheart event held at Flyte’s Fieldstones on Feb. 28. The event allowed participants to enjoy winter fun including ice-skating, a sleigh ride and entertainment with the Clausons.

Dick Werner, representing the Hancock Area Veterans Association (H.A.V.A.), presented a $500 check to Waushara County Veterans Service Officer Bill Rosenau on Feb. 24.
