The Wild Rose Ladycats had an unusual night of missed shots causing problems against the Marion Lady Mustangs in Feb. 4 girls’ basketball action. They did mange to get out of trouble later on and nearly came out on top, but suffered a tough 25-27 loss.

After returning from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter to take a brief lead late in the fourth quarter, the Wild Rose Wildcats entered an overtime period against the Port Edwards Blackhawks in Feb. 3 boys’ basketball action, only to lose the CWC-10 game, 43-50.

The Lady Hornets came out looking to improve their South Central Conference record on Feb. 7 against Nekoosa. From the moment the game started, the Lady Papermakers had other plans for Wautoma shutting them down on the hardwood, 35-57.

On Feb. 6, the Tri-County Boys Basketball Team traveled to Rosholt for a make up game, and it has been hectic over the past two weeks, trying to get all the games in due to cancellations because of snow and cold weather. Tri-County was unable to handle Rosholt and lost 61 to 46.

The Lady Penguins traveled to Gresham on Feb. 7 and found themselves in a hole 12 to 0 by end of first quarter. Tri-County showed lots of poise and never gave up. They fought back and got back into the game.

The Wild Rose boys got off to a 9-0 start at Tigerton on Feb. 6 and never looked back. They used a balanced offense that saw four different players score in double figures to cruise to a 71-33 win.
