Fall harvest weight limits begin Sept. 1 Print E-mail

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is reminding farmers that fall harvest weight limits take effect from Sept. 1 through Dec. 31.

“With the fall harvest just around the corner, farmers should note that state law allows an increase in normal weight limits for trucks hauling crops from the field to their first point of storage,” said Farm Bureau’s Executive Director of Governmental Relations Paul Zimmerman. “Our state’s new Implements of Husbandry (IOH) law allows farm machinery to have a 15 percent increase in weight year-round. The IOH law does not apply to trucks.”

West Salem High School just outside of LaCrosse, has a criteria that each senior is required to do a Senior Exit Project in order to graduate. The Senior Exit Project (SEP) can be anything the student wishes as long as the student is in charge, and a minimum of 15 hours is put into the project.

During Burlington High School’s first football game of the season on Aug. 22, former BHS educator, coach, and athletic director Don Dalton, retired and now living in rural Wautoma, was honored with a plaque during a dedication ceremony at half time. The stadium, which Don helped plan during his last year of coaching, was dedicated in his honor and named the “Don Dalton Stadium.”
