On Aug. 12, 3,386 residents throughout the county voted in the Partisan Primary Election for Waushara County sheriff, coroner, and clerk of circuit court. Waushara County had a voter turnout of 18.15 percent.

For the 28th year, automobiles and motorcycles from all over Wisconsin will converge at the Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Aug. 24, for the Platoon Run XXVIII Car and Motorcycle Show.

The day begins with a continental breakfast at Tomah Recreation Park (Monroe County Fairgrounds) from 9-11 a.m. Root River Rods and Kustoms is sponsoring the breakfast.

Farmers will want to plan ahead and sign up early this year for USDA conservation funding.

Michelle Komiskey, district conservationist for the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for Adams, Marquette, and Waushara Counties announced that any farmer interested in the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) need to apply by Oct. 3 for funding in 2015.
