Nila Carrie Anderson Print E-mail

Nila Carrie Anderson, age 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior early Friday morning, Sept. 6, 2013. She was born, on March 15, 1931, in the Wild Rose area.

Nila was the daughter of John and Pearl Graydon. On June 2, 1951, she married LaVerne G. Anderson. They settled in Sun Prairie, in 1961, where they farmed until his passing in 1993.

Nila and LaVerne were charter members of Calvary Baptist Church, of Sun Prairie. She worked for many years in the Calvary Baptist Christian School and served in various capacities in the church over the years. Nila was a loving, caring person and her life was filled with many special friends and family members.

Nila was survived by her two sons: Dennis of Chetek; and Paul of Sun Prairie; four grandchildren: Joshua (Jen), Sara, Jami and Dylan; a great grandson: Tyler; as well as other loving extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband: LaVerne; her parents: John and Pearl; her daughter-in-law: Joy; and a brother: Kenneth.

Nila was grateful for the many expressions of support and love during her time of illness.

A Funeral Service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at Calvary Baptist Church, 304 Woodward Drive, Sun Prairie. Pastor Rick Bloom presided. Burial followed at the Union Cemetery in Wild Rose. A visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 at the Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home, 302 Columbus St., in Sun Prairie and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
