On Friday, Sept. 23, the Wautoma Hornet football team took on the Westfield Pioneers.Westfield got off to an early lead scoring a touchdown on its opening drive, but was then bottled up by the Wautoma defense the rest of the game.

On Sept. 22, the Tri-County Penguins volleyball team hosted the Bowler Panthers. The two Central Wisconsin Conference-10 (CWC-10) teams came into the game tied for first place in the conference with undefeated records.

The South Wisconsin Thrivent Member Network Board, through the local Thrivent Financial offices in Montello and Wautoma, is providing a check for $2000 to sponsor the upcoming Reach the Peak Race on Saturday, Oct. 8 at Nordic Mt Ski Hill.

The Jakefest Committee presented a $4,000 check to the Redgranite Fire Department/Dive Team on Sept. 20 from funds raised from this year’s Jakefest. Kathy and Vince Deringer formed Jakefest Inc. following the death of their son, Jake I.

The Woman-Minskey American Legion Auxiliary Unit 317, Wautoma, honored seventeen ladies for their 20 or more continuous years of membership in the American Legion Auxiliary. Some of the ladies were members of various Auxiliary Units prior to coming to Wautoma and joining Unit 317.
