James A. Jeffrey Print E-mail

Nov. 24, 1932-Aug. 15, 2014

James Jeffery, 81, passed away Friday afternoon, Aug. 15, 2014, surrounded by family after many years as a resident at Kings Veterans Home. His courageous battle of numerous health issues has ended.

James was born Nov. 24, 1932, to James and Catherine (Borosch) Jeffery in Milwaukee, the second of four children. In the 1940s, his parents moved the family to Plainfield.

He served in the Air Force-Korea, and loved to inker with cars, including race stock cars. James loved hunting and fishing with family, to collect and attend auctions, make numerous etchings and crafts, which the family still enjoys, telling stories, and laughing.

He worked many jobs as a mechanic; his last job was working as a diesel mechanic for Fond du Lac Mack.

James is survived by his brother: Andy (Donna) Jeffery, their children: Mike and Kerry; and niece: Catherine (Dan) DeWitt-Wetmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a special friend.

Holly and Sons of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements. A private ceremony took place at Kings Veterans Cemetery on Aug. 20 with military honors.

Special thanks to his caregivers at King and many thanks to those who came to visit Jim over the years, wrote notes, sent cards, and made phone calls.
