The deadline to file the paperwork to be a candidate in the 2014 fall election was Monday, June 2. The Waushara County offices that will be on the August 12 Partisan Primary and November 4 General Election ballot will include: sheriff, coroner, and clerk of circuit court.
The following people have qualified as candidates for the election:
•Sherriff: Jeffrey L. Nett (incumbent), Republican; and Russell Monacelli, Republican
•Clerk of Circuit Court: Melissa M. Zamzow (incumbent), Republican
•Coroner: No candidate. Incumbent Republican Roland Handel was short on signatures at the filing deadline. When an incumbent does not submit notification of noncandidacy, but does not qualify for the ballot on time, Wiscosnin State Statutes dictate that the filing deadline for that position must be extended three days for any other interested persons wishing to seek this office. That deadline was Thursday, June 5 at 5 p.m. Handel still intends to run as a write-in on the August and/or November ballot.
For more information on the election, contact Waushara County Clerk Melanie Stake at 920-787-0442 or email@example.com.
