Susanne Graeszel nee Thiel Print E-mail

Aug. 7, 1920-June 1, 2014

Susanne Graeszel née Thiel passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. She was born Aug. 7, 1920, daughter of the late Dr. Hermann and Ella Thiel. Married to the late Arthur H. Graeszel for 67 years, they enjoyed a life filled with deep love and devotion, sharing many wonderful adventures together.

Dearest mother and friend of: Wendy Olson (Don Weyenberg) and Suzi (Kevin) Moore; grandmother of: Aaron (Monica) Olson; great grandmother of: Paige and Piper Olson; aunt to: Scott, Steve (Debbie) and Cindy (Keith).

As a humble yet stunning beauty in her early 20’s she began modeling for many of the top department stores in the Milwaukee and Chicago areas. Chapmans, Gimbels, Marshall Fields, and Boston Store. This was all taking place while attending Downer College where she received her teaching degree. She spent over 45 years devoting her time and efforts educating and uplifting her students, both children and adults.  Her true passion was helping and giving to others.  She seriously was one of the most loving, caring, peaceful, happy and unselfish people you could ever know! For this she will be forever remembered.

A special and loving “thank you” goes out to the amazing staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Much of the focus needs to be directed to the staff on 5th floor Stordock, Bonnie, Mary, Roz, Dayle, Tabitha, Denise and many others. Our family has been comforted and supported by the dear Pastor Rich. It is because of their never ending devotion and platinum care that our parents led many happy and healthy years at King. Our veterans are truly lucky there. Also, big hugs go out to Don. You are one very special angel who surrounded our mother with a deep and caring atmosphere until the very end. We are forever grateful beyond words.

The Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at 11 a.m. in the Pavillion of the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Maple Crest Funeral Home, Waupaca, is assisting the family with arrangements, www.maplecrestfuneralhome.com.

Dear Mom, Thank you for all the years filled with your abundant support and unconditional love.  We your family and dear friends were truly blessed to have your beautiful soul grace our lives. Rest in peace.  Find comfort surrounded by the angels and your loving God.
