Rev. Dr. Robert Lee Heiliger, born Nov. 14, 1948, son of the late Robert and Elayne Heiliger, passed away Jan. 19, 2014.

He was the husband of Holly Heiliger, and the father of Robert, Beth (Tim) Dominick, Evangeline Heiliger (Van Nguyen), and Christopher; stepchildren: Tom (Lori) Baker, Tiffany Bello (Micheal Hart) and Brandy (Brad Troxell); brother of: Hedy (Rick) Otto, Susan (Ken) Kleinhans, Mary (Gary) Fischer, Wendy Heiliger (Carl Severtson) and Jeffrey (Renee) Heiliger. He is also survived by many other family members.

Bob attended Concordia College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in music. He went on to receive his Master of Divinity degree and a degree in pastoral counseling from Christ Seminary in St. Louis, MO. He continued his education at Andover-Newton Theological School at Newton Center, MA, obtaining his Doctorate of Ministry.

Bob applied his studies as Associate Director of Children’s Services at the Lutheran Service Association in Massachusetts, as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, OH and most recently as pastor of 23 years at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Darrtown, OH.

He was a Pastor Counselor at the Professional Pastor Counseling Institute of Cincinnati in Kenwood, OH and at Michael Miller in Fairfield, OH.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 4411 Walter Smokey Alston, Highway 177, Oxford, OH 45056.
