Larry A. Van Bever, 61, Stevens Point, passed away on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Portage County Healthcare Center, Stevens Point, with family by his side.

He was born Nov. 7, 1952 in Waupun, the son of Frank and Myrtle (Wiese) Van Bever. He was married to Nancy C. Lenhardt on May 25, 1974, they later divorced. Together they had two children, Matthew and Mariah.

Larry enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also liked to draw. Larry was employed at The Wacker Corporation and also worked as a mechanic at various places.

He is survived by his two children: Matthew Van Bever (Kim), Stevens Point; Mariah Goodwin (Tom), Westfield; Nancy Van Bever, Westfield; six grandchildren: Kailey and Carlie Van Bever, Samantha, Hunter, Holly and Gage Goodwin; two sisters: Sheron (Neal) Warber, Montana; Frances (Richard “Dick”) Prechel, Beaver Dam; two half sisters: Eula Sexton, Kentucky; Hazel (Calvin) Eagle, Kentucky; one brother: Frank “Butch” (and friend) Van Bever Jr., Waupun; one half brother: Gorman Van Beber; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He will be deeply be missed by all that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; half brothers: Big John and Bill; and close friends: Charlie Barnes and Mike Clendenning.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family in celebrating Larry’s life on Sunday, Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ponderosa Pines, 287 State Road 73, Bancroft. Food and refreshments will be provided.

Family would like to express a sincere thank you to the caring individuals at Portage County Healthcare Center, Ministry Home Care Hospice, other

caregivers and all who visited and prayed for him.
