Donald A. Kruzicki, Custer, 76, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25, 2013 in Apache Junction, AZ. He was born Dec. 9, 1936 in Rosholt to the late August and Martha (Berna) Kruzicki. He attended St. Aldabert’s Grade School, Rosholt High School and Mid-State Vocational School.

On Oct. 4, 1958, he married Beatrice Bigalke at Sacred Heart Parish, Polonia, WI. They just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Don worked in Milwaukee for four years at Kornell paper mill. He moved to Polonia and worked at Whiting-Plover paper mill 21 years and consolidated paper mill 19 years. He retired in December 1998.

Starting in 2005, Don and Bea wintered in Arizona and summered in Wisconsin. He was president and member of the Rosholt Blizzard Busters Snowmobile Club for over 30 years, officer for Portage County Alliance Snowmobile Club, and a member of Knights of Columbus. He taught small engine classes at Rosholt High School and repaired small engines in Polonia.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, snowmobiler, enjoyed his bingo hall family and friendships, was a Green Bay football fan and enjoyed his many years of traveling throughout the United States. His close companion, Jack, brought him many years of enjoyment.

Surviving children include: Patty-Bob Dunn, Hancock; Gary-Lynn Kruzicki, Plover; Deb-Mike Bembeneck, Polonia; Laurie Sommers, Hancock; Kirk Kruzicki, WI Rapids; and Joe Kruzicki, Stevens Point; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Surviving siblings include: Veronica-Lawrence Basinski, Plover; Roger-Judy Kruzicki, Rosholt; John-Nancy Kruzicki, Rosholt; and Tony-Barb Kruzicki, Rosholt.

He was preceded in death by his parents: August and Martha Kruzicki; sister: Lorraine Simonis; and son: Frank Kruzicki.  He will be fondly remembered by his fiesty nature and big heart! We love you!

A memorial was held in Arizona, Nov. 2 at Denali Park and at a later date to be announced in Wisconsin.

Superstition Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Apache Junction, AZ, assisted the family.
