Albert worked for E.J. Sader & Sons and B&B Auto in Fremont, then worked for Gelhar Sand. He was currently employed by RJ Schafer & Sons Well Drilling, until his illness forced his retirement. Albert was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, where he served as a trustee and as a member of the St. John’s Cemetery Board. He enjoyed collecting tractors and farm machinery.
Albert is survived by his wife: Sonya; two sisters: Shirley (Donnie) Crossman, Markesan; and Judy Rodencal, Weyauwega; brothers-in-law: Robert Strey, Fremont; and Jerry (Pam) Strey, both of Fremont; Brian Strey, New London; and Randy Marquardt, Fremont; a sister-in-law: Shirley (Mark) Roemer, Wautoma; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a sister: Elaine Marquardt.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 8580 37th Ave., Fremont. Rev. Paul Fritz officiated. Burial was in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, East Bloomfield. Visitation was held on Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont, and on Saturday, at the church, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established for St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, East Bloomfield.
