Germaine Mary Roberts, (nee De Lap), 85, Redgranite, passed away Thursday evening, Oct. 10, 2013 at Preston Place in Redgranite.

Germaine was born May 2, 1928 in Oshkosh, a daughter of Roy Frank and Rose (Spanbauer) De Lap.  Germaine was raised in Oshkosh and lived there until moving to the Redgranite area.  Germaine had been married for 25 years, until they divorced,  to Arden Edward Roberts, who is deceased.

Germaine was a member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite.  She enjoyed doing jigsaw and circle the word puzzles, restoring old kitchen utensils, and collecting family photographs.

Survivors include a daughter: Mary (John) Herbst, Oshkosh; a son: Arden Roberts, Oshkosh; seven grandchildren: Dennis (Becky) Herbst, Joey (Annie) Herbst, Jason (Kristy) Herbst, Angela, Shane, Amber, Amy, and Sarah Roberts; six great-grandchildren: Hailey, Tori, Brett, Anthony, Lucas, and Brayden; and a step-great-grandson: Ryan.  Germaine is also survived by other relatives and friends, and her caregivers and friends at Preston Place.

Germaine was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Rose De Lap; a brother: Howard De Lap; a sister: Rosemary Binder; and her beloved canine friend and companion: Dolly.

Funeral services for Germaine Mary Roberts will be held Thursday evening, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Msgr. Mark J. Schommer.  Germaine will be laid to rest Friday morning in the Redgranite Foster Road Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening, prior to the Mass at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Redgranite. There will also be a time of visitation from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the North Activity Room at Preston Place in Redgranite for the convenience of Germaine’s friends at Preston Place. Please use the Main Entrance.

Should friends desire, memorials will be appreciated for the Activities Department at Preston Place.

The Ruminski Funeral Home of Redgranite is assisting the family with arrangements.
