It was another boys’ basketball matchup between two Wildcat teams. This time Wild Rose hosted Northland Lutheran for a 54-48 regional win on Feb. 27.
“Northland Lutheran came out of the locker room down 25-22 at halftime and made shots in the second half,” pointed out Wild Rose Head Coach Jacob Lund (even when the Wildcats were down by 19.) “I’m proud of them (the hosting Wildcats) for being able to handle that, especially when (Evan) Tratz fouled out (late in the game). They kept their composure, came up with some points, and that’s what counts this time of year.”
Northland Lutheran took an early 10-7 lead, and extended it slightly, 12-8, as Wild Rose slowly closed in. Evan Tratz tied the score at 12 for the hosts, but the visitors came back to lead 16-12.
