Body
On Friday, March 22, 2024, Ron Zimmerman, 58, of New London, with the love and support of family and friends at his side, lost the long and courageous fight against cancer.
Ron was born in Clintonville on May 29, 1965, and went to school in Sugar Bush until his early grade school years. In 1983 he graduated from Tri-County High School, Plainfield. After graduation moved back to the New London/Bear Creek area where he has lived ever since. Ron worked as a construction foreman for Cleary Builders for many years and then pursued his dream of driving an 18-wheeler, which he fully embraced and was very proud to be driving for Hilker Trucking until he was too ill to take any more trips. Ron’s passion was riding motorcycles, buying them, and teaching others how to ride. His biggest smiles on the bike were when his children were riding next to him and engaging in a few family racing challenges. Ron’s other passion was his children and grandchildren, which he adored; interacting and seeing them all together melted his heart. He was very proud of his children, who they are and all they’ve accomplished in life so far.
Ron is survived by his wife, Tracy Zimmerman; daughter, Mikala (Dakota) Ritchie and children Winter and Autumn, of New London; son, Bryan (Shayla) Zimmerman and child Kira, of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; his father, Verne (Gloria) Zimmerman, of Plainfield; mother, Donna Zimmerman, of New London; sister, Diane (Chris) Bouchette, of Bear Creek; mother-in-law, Karen Angell, of Winneconne; brothers-in-law, Kevin Angell, of Crandon; Kirt (Patty) Angell, of Butte des Morts; Kelly (Julie) Angell, of Winneconne; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and amazing friends.
Preceding Ron in death were a brother, Mike Zimmerman, sisters, Sharon Kramer, Shirley Zimmerman, paternal and maternal grandparents; and a friend who was like a brother, Mike Buege.
