Richard R. Yeska, age 90, of Wild Rose, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care with family by his side on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
He was born April 5, 1933 in Wild Rose; son of Peter and Lillian (Nowicki) Yeska. On October 4, 1958, Dick married JoAnn Wrage at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church – Heffron and together through the years they raised six wonderful children. Dick farmed his entire life on the family homestead in Wild Rose. He will be dearly missed by all of his loving family, many friends, and his two canine companions – Jake and Sadie.
Dick is survived by his wife of 65 years JoAnn Yeska of Wild Rose; six children Jackie (Scott) Thompson of Wild Rose, Rick (Diane) Yeska of Wild Rose, Teresa (Ned) Schaber of Wild Rose, Paula (Mike) Lauer of Wautoma, Pamela Zinda of Almond, and Jennifer “Jonny” Zblewski of Amherst; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters Lorraine Markowski of Appleton and Ileen (Gary) Hudziak of Wild Rose; two brothers-in-law Len Lesniak of Wild Rose and Fred Hodor of Planta Gorda, FL; and also by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Lillian Yeska; two sons-in-law Thomas Zinda and Matthew Zblewski; two brothers Frank (Lena) Yeska and Edwin (Carol) Yeska; and three sisters Eleanor (Bob) Krause, Marge Lesniak, and Lillian Hodor.
A Funeral Mass for Richard will be on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Almond, WI. Father Peter Manickam will preside. A visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will take place on Wednesday at Hope Cemetery in the Town of Belmont. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements. A special thank-you to ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all of their help and support given to our family.
The special care Dick received will never be forgotten.
