Helen P. Ruiz, age 87, of Hancock, passed away peacefully Friday night March 15, 2024 at her home with her family at her side.
She was born April 27, 1936, on the family farm in the town of Hancock to Alvin and Margaret (Gerhke) Holmes. She married Victor R. Ruiz on January 4, 1960, in Chicago and together they had three loving children, Margaret, Sharise and John. Helen grew up in the Hancock area and later moved to Chicago where she was employed as an embroidery specialist. Helen and Victor moved back to rural Hancock in 1976. Helen enjoyed canning, gardening, cake decorating, and crafting. She was the most loving and caring person anyone could meet. Her love for God and others showed in her dedication while volunteering at the Waushara County Food Pantry.
She is survived by her husband, Victor R. Ruiz, Hancock; two daughters, Margaret (Dennis) Bader, Wisconsin Rapids, Sharise Ruiz, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Chrislyn (Mark), and Ryan (Steph); six great grandchildren, Monet, Alexander, Irith, Lillian, Emma, and Jude; one brother, Carol (Ruth) Holmes; survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, John Ruiz and her siblings, Lewis, Melvin and Kathy and great granddaughter, Emma.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Stahl Funeral Home, Plainfield. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
