Dear Editor,
A reader was upset that Governor Evers was offering $100 for unvaccinated people to get the vaccine but these are tax dollars well spent.
The more people contract the virus the more the virus will mutate and make the current vaccine less effective. This makes all Wisconsin residents, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, more vulnerable to the disease.
Most people do not appreciate how effective vaccines have been in the past. We see very little of polio, mumps, measles, pertussis, diphtheria, because of vaccines.
It is truly unfortunate that some people need to be encouraged to do the right thing and get the COVID vaccine, but I am more than willing to spend tax dollars to makes us all safer.
