Accidents reported in Waushara County

8/4/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 11:07 a.m. on STH21 westbound in the Town of Dakota. Brandon Dieringer, 36, Cedar Grove, stopped at the red light at the intersection. William Kikendall, 84, Redgranite, came upon the intersection and the front of the vehicle made contact with the rear of Dieringer while the vehicle was stopped at the red light. Kikendall stated that his brakes went out and showed the officer by pushing the brake pedal to the floor.

8/4/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:07 p.m. on CTHX southbound in the Town of Aurora southbound. Alexis Polar, 31, Oshkosh, failed to negotiate the corner, ran over a telephone box, continued through a field planted with trees, drove over a mound septic system, then ran into a tree in the middle of the yard. Vehicle then drove back into the road and drove away from the scene. Polar was later stopped in Omro.

8/5/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 5:13 p.m. on an intersection in the Town of Dakota. Autum Arenz, 26, Oshkosh, negotiated a curve on “auto pilot”. Vehicle did not recognize the turn, did not brake and continued straight through the curve into the ditch.

8/10/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:50 p.m. on an intersection in the Town of Hancock. Renae Swenson, 45, Circle Pines, MN, failed to stop at the stop sign at Beechnut Ave. Swenson drove into the ditch and struck a fence post which went under the vehicle. The vehicle sustained damage to its front bumper and undercarriage.

8/13/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:32 p.m. on CTHB northbound in the Town of Richford. Stephanie Fedor-Falardeau, 45, Gary, IN, and front seat passenger stated they were slowing down for a deer and were struck from behind by Logan Wacholtz, 28, Montello, while in their lane. Fedor-Falardeau stated Wacholtz had been following them too close prior. Wacholtz driver and front seat passenger stated he was attempting to pass when Fedor-Falardeau swerved into the passing lane, causing him to lock up his brakes and strike the vehicle in the rear. Wacholtz stated Fedor-Falardeau moved approximately one to three feet into the passing lane when the collision occurred. No identifying marks to show impact point to determine where the collision occurred on the roadway.
