Accidents reported in Waushara County

2/8/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred in a parking lot in the Village of Plainfield. Scott Rasmussen, 44, Hancock, backed up and struck parked vehicle.

2/10/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 9:31 p.m. on STH21 eastbound in the Town of Dakota. The vehicle appeared to leave it’s lane of travel, entered the median, and struck a pole. Deputy was informed there was fresh paint transfer on the pole. After striking the pole, the suspect vehicle continued to travel eastbound on State Highway21/73 until a traffic stop was conducted. During the stop Martin Kerwin, 63, Kiel, stated he only hit a curb and nothing else.

2/11/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 2:59 a.m. on STH21 westbound in the Town of Aurora. Matthew Lyons, 40, Glenwood City, was negotiating a curve, lost control due to slush, then jackknifed.

2/15/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 11:44 a.m. on Archer Ave. in the Town of Saxeville. Shaun Adkins, 29, Appleton, was traveling on Iowa Court approaching Archer Ave. Iowa Court driveway surface is hard packed snow and ice. Adkins attempted to stop however he was unable to and he skidded across Archer Ave. into the ditch striking wood and a fence post in the ditch causing damage to the vehicle.

2/16/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 6:16 a.m. on STH49 southbound in the Town of Poy Sippi. Gail Craft, 62, Hortonville, lost control on icy road and vehicle entered west ditch. Vehicle rolled two times and came to rest on its’ wheels in the west ditch facing west.

2/16/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 7 a.m. on CTHE eastbound in the Town of Warren. Joseph Edwards, 36, Wautoma, observed a deer in the road while negotiating a curve and began to slow on the icy curve, but lost control. The vehicle slid into the ditch to the left and struck a tree. The vehicle spun around and more damage was done to the rear when it also struck trees.

2/16/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:29 p.m. on CTHW northbound in the Town of Saxeville. Stanley Brink, 83, Ripon, was at a stop sign. Johanna Peskie, 26, New London, pulled up behind Brink. Brink stated he backed up to see the road he was on as he was lost and struck the vehicle behind him.

2/16/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:32 p.m. on CTHAE northbound in the Town of Saxeville. Deborah Sattler, 47, Wild Rose, was stopped at the end of the driveway and turned left into traffic and failed to negotiate to oncoming vehicles distance. Michael Loa, 26, Wautoma, struck Sattler in the front driver side causing curtain bag deployment as Sattler then spun counter clockwise before coming to stop in the roadway. Loa sustained damage to the driver and passenger side front door and quarter panel. Sattler struck Loa after hitting its’ breaks and skidding 69 feet prior to impact. Loa then spun clockwise and struck the mailbox. Loa came to rest in the east ditch and sustained front end and back driver side damage to the back quarter panel and wheel and wheel well.

 

2/18/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 4:52 p.m. on STH73 southbound in the Town of Oasis. Jennifer Page, 32. Berlin, was negotiating a left curve when losing control and beginning to spin. Page crossed over into northbound lane and entered north ditch, backend first. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its’ roof in the north ditch.

2/18/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 7:07 p.m. on IH39 northbound in the Town of Hancock. Peter Castritsis, 53, Schaumburg, IL, stated he was traveling when the trailer he was towing began to jackknife due to the weather conditions. The trailer became disconnected from the vehicle where it came to rest in the median.

2/18/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 8:23 p.m. on IH39 northbound in the Town of Coloma. Merlin Osborn, Blue Grass, IA, 71, stated he was traveling when he hit a patch of ice, causing him to lose control of his vehicle, leave the roadway, and eventually striking the median barrier/cable coming to rest on top of them.

2/19/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 8:05 a.m. on Summit St. in the Village of Wild Rose. David Hudziak, 59, Waupaca, was in a heavy truck with snow plow/salt attachments, was reversing out of a driveway on the east side of the road. Hudziak could not see Nicholas Eggers, 27, Sheboygan Falls, due to the attachments. Eggers turned southbound on to the road and Hudziak rear side corner struck Eggers’ on the driver door.

2/20/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred at an unknown time in a parking lot in the Village of Redgranite. Unit 1 was legally parked and unoccupied in the parking lot when the owner found it had been struck by another unknown vehicle.

2/22/2022: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 7:03 a.m. on Brown Deer Dr. in the Town of Wautoma. Danielle Arnold, 22, Wautoma, pulled away from the stop sign to go northbound while Thomas Monacelli, 41, Wild Rose, was southbound. Arnold pulled into the path of Monacelli. Monacelli made contact with Arnold’s driver side of vehicle. Both came to rest in a field off of the roadway.

2/25/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 3:03 p.m. on CTHXX westbound in the Town of Aurora. Johnathan Scheier, 26, Poy Sippi, drifted over centerline and entered south ditch. The vehicle contacted multiple small trees and came to rest facing westbound in the south ditch among small trees.

2/26/2022: A one-vehicle accident occurred at 10:13 p.m. on CTHW northbound in the Town of Mount Morris. Patrick McCardell, 18, Wild Rose, was traveling northbound when the vehicle drove off the roadway and into the east ditch. McCardell admitted to being on the phone when this occurred. McCardell then struck a fence, gate, power pole, and two power utility boxes.

2/19/2022: At 9:29 p.m., Michael Bradley, 36, Berlin, on STH49, Southbound, Town of Poy Sippi.

2/21/2022: At 7:05 a.m., Summer Downs, 23, Oshkosh, on E. Bannerman Ave/STH21, Eastbound, Town of Warren.
