Subhead

10/23/2021: A two-vehicle accident occurred at 8:35 p.m. on CTHB northbound in the Town of Richford. Upon arrival, deputy observed Roger Vanden Langenberg, 71, Appleton, stopped in the middle of the roadway with extensive damage and Neal Gordon, 29, Madison, was stuck in the north shoulder/ditch while still partially on the roadway. Langenberg was injured. EMS arrived and assisted him out of the vehicle to transport him. Langenberg’s passenger stated they were going approximately 60 MPH when the crash occurred. Gordon stated he drove up to the stop sign and came to a complete stop. When he started his left turn, Langenberg crashed into him and believed he was traveling at a high rate of speed. There was a witness vehicle and he stated he saw Gordon at the stop sign. He stated he did not see the crash, but heard it and then helped out both parties. Due to the uncertainty of speed of Langenberg, it was decided to request a download of the ECM data by State Patrol.
